Protected by the hills around it, Marcellise is the smallest and least visited of the valleys around Verona, almost as if it was trying to hide. But it’s not from shyness, it’s because it wants to stay true to itself, pure and free from the chaos of the outside world, a haven of nature.

In Marcellise, winemaking is an age-old tradition. Imagine an ancient library, where the silence is broken only by the rustling of yellowed pages. One of the treasures it guards is a treatise from 1157 laying down precise rules for cultivating vines so that this precious knowledge would be passed down from generation to generation. It’s the proof that not only was the land farmed centuries ago, but that there were already passionate winemakers here. This heritage is still our foundation stone, but we add our own vision.
The rich minerality of the soil, helped by underground water reservoirs and a separate drainage basin from the neighbouring valleys, gives our grapes unique properties, an unmistakable identity that can be recognized in every sip of Cavedini wines.
